With over 2000 years of clinical history, TCM has created many diverse techniques to address a wide range of ailments, including:
aches and pains sports injuries headaches gynaecological problems allergies stress-related disorders: anxiety, IBS, fatigue addictions
The Concept of Qi
Chinese philosophy considers Qi as the fundamental building block of the universe. Qi underpins all existence by being a continuum from the most spiritual emptiness to the densest of matter. Some western physicists are beginning to view the universe as a manifestation of vibration, some of it unmeasurable but part of all things. This correlates with the Chinese view. Even though the vocabulary may differ, the sense is parallel.
Humankind is just one manifestation of Qi. Traditional Chinese Medicine applies the concept of Qi to understand the workings of each person. When Qi is in disarray or out of balance, we experience pain and illness. TCM does not view disease as a separate entity, unrelated to the individual, but considers it as part of the person.
Seemingly unrelated signs and symptoms are diagnosed as inter-related patterns of disharmony. With practical techniques, Chinese Medicine addresses these imbalances, enabling the person to reclaim their health. |
