Understanding the Passion The Day Death Died Beginning the Life Transformation Process

Was the death of Jesus one of the worst examples of man inhumanity and cruelty to man? If that was all it was then why did we need to see it in such graphic detail – why couldn’t Mel Gibson have eluded to it? Why did we have to see such a brutal and vicious act? Or was there something more to it than a terrible and unjust tragedy? I think the bible makes perfect sense of it all.    CLICK HERE TO READ ON

Death - Stats – 100% of those living eventually die                  100% of women die of being undervalued                           100% of men die for some peace and quiet                                 Seriously though, death is something that casts a shadow over life. None of us are immune to it and all of us at some stage suffer grief at the loss of a loved one. CLICK HERE TO READ ON

A Living Sacrifice to God
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice--the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do. CLICK HERE TO READ ON

Free meals for Life Things that go bump in the night Winning on the battlefield of life

A survey was done in Britain recently and the question asked was “Who has influenced your life more, David Beckham or God?” 1 in 3 said David Beckham. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m sure DB is a nice guy, but come on, what are we coming to when as a nation, for many of us, DB or someone like him plays a more important part in our life and is more influential than God. What does that say about us? I’ll tell you what it says fundamentally CLICK HERE TO READ ON

Put on all of God's armour so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms. Why is there such an interest in the supernatural or the paranormal? Use every piece of God's armour to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armour of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. CLICK HERE TO READ ON

What have I got to be grateful for? 5 minutes alone with Jesus Love in action Part 1

An Ungrateful Lot                     We find it easy to moan and complain but a strain to be encouraging and grateful. Our faculties are given to us for a much higher and more beautiful purpose than to moan and complain all the time.                              Illistration -  Farmer and the pig (see ‘Frogs in Cream’ – gratitude)Ingratitude is ugly isn’t it?Illistration - Imagine a child getting a present at Christmas and not saying Thank you but instead “put it there”. “I’m sorry”, replies the parent, “what do you say?”, and the child again replies “put it there”. You would think ‘what an obnoxious and ungrateful brat! CLICK HERE TO READ ON

Whatever we do, it is because Christ's love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for everyone, we also believe that we have all died to the old life we used to live.He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live to please themselves. Instead, they will live to please Christ, who died and was raised for them.
So we have stopped evaluating others by what the world thinks about them. Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, as though he were merely a human being. How differently I think about him now! CLICK HERE TO READ ON

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.                                             v1)       in speech - annoying              v2)       in action - worthless              v3)       in sacrifice – unfulfilled and empty

Love in action Part 2 Love in action Part 3 Love in action Part 4

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  CLICK HERE TO READ ON

Boasting and Pride Be Humble Boasting and pride go together, pride is the root problem and boasting is the chief symptom.   Boasting is ‘any time we try to impress people or elevate ourselves above others by what we say or do’.  You can be proud without necessarily doing anything – it’s that feeling that wells up inside, often results in a smirk, but at that moment you feel a sense of superiority or of being better than others. AGAPE love – doesn’t expect anything back, doesn’t act only for those who it likes, loves no matter what.  Are we starting to look a little bit more like the character which Paul would say real does exhibit love?                               1 Corinthians 13 -  “it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.”  CLICK HERE TO READ ON

Prayer – Talking To Your Best Friend (Part 1)

Prayer – Talking To Your Best Friend (Part 2)

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.  For we know in part and we prophesy in part,  but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.  When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.   CLICK HERE TO READ ON

You’d be surprised how important an issue prayer is to people. You imagine that it’s only relevant to the few ultra holy people who do it from time to time, and certainly only the domain of those who go to church – wrong.  CLICK HERE TO READ ON

Two weeks ago we looked at the story Jesus told in Luke 18. A story about a widow who had hit rock bottom, was in a desperate situation and whose only hope was the local judge who was a self-centred and hardhearted man. He had little conscience and would only help someone if there was something in it for him.   CLICK HERE TO READ ON
