BCC – The Story So Far

Baglan Community Church Building

Baglan Community Church was born out of a desire to see God’s message taken to the local community in a relevant, dynamic and professional way. The message of good news has not changed for 2000 years but there is a need for churches to present it in a way that is culturally relevant – at BCC the music and musical accompaniment is contemporary, the messages are communicated in an interesting manner with a focus on real life issues and the environment is warm and welcoming. The only other church that exists in Baglan is the Anglican Church.

September 1st 2002 – BCC’s first service

Three couples were each called by God to fulfil that vision in the early part of 2002. By September 2002, following much planning, advertising and prayer, BCC had its first service on September 1st in Baglan Community Centre.

A taste of the good things to come

The church has already grown in exciting ways with many people being converted, many coming back to church life, and many more having their Christian life and vision re-ignited. The church has a current Sunday morning average attendance of 100 and is now one of the largest churches in the county. It is also one of the fastest growing churches in Wales and in September 2003 BCC called Neil Tallamy (one of the founding members) to work for the church.

An unshakable hope

Central to its success so far and its hope for the future is the vision that the church has (see vision statement) and its confidence in a God who wants to work and is very able to do great things anywhere and at any time. We expect God to do much greater things still and to see many more people filling the church week by week.
