Match Report
Barley needed to get back on track in this weeks league fixture after the disappointment of the playoffs in the past fortnight. A trip to Hydes Road against Prince Of Wales however was to prove to be not what the doctor ordered. Shaun Porter who's had an injury troubled season made a rare appearance in the Barley back line which was already missing M Cornaby, Marson and Freeman. 11minutes into the match and more injury problems as Shaun Porter pulled up with his re-occuring hamstring problem after clearing the ball. Price came on and Hickman covered at the back in the re-suffle, Hickman was to be Barley's best player of the afternoon. Barley were poor throughout the first half, failing to win the challenges and string an real fluent passing together. Just before half time Princes Of Wales scored twice in the space of five minutes, first a low cross from the left and likewise one from the right were undefended and two neat easy finishes gave Wales the half time lead they deserved. Barley came out in the second half keen to put right there first half display, but soon after the break Wales finished the game off. Evans was caught in possesion on the edge of the eighteen yard box and dispite his efforts to redeem his error a square ball across the box made it 3-0. The remainder of the match was played out a formality with Barley under the cosh for the most part. Richard Porter came on for the final twenty five minutes which opened the game up slighty but even his efforts were in vain. A thoroughly lack-luster performance from Barley and a deserved three points for Wales. Barley need to find that hunger and desire to want to win football matches again if they are to turn the corner and push for promotion.
