News: 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008 Barley Anounce End Of Season Presentation - (5th May 2008) With little to celebrate this season and the club still in high progression, the club have removed the more formal presentation and will instead hold an end of season dinner on the 24th May 2008. Blakeway & Freeman Depart - (17th February 2008) Strikers Anthony Blakeway and Michael Freeman have both left the club. Micheal Freeman has not played for the club since he was left on the bence for Barley's 3-0 defeat to St Chads back on the 28th October 2007. Anthony Blakeway still Barley's current top scorer this season with 10 goals has not featured since Barley's 10-1 home drubbing to fellow relegation candidates AC Harbourne. Both players have transfered to Sedgley White Lions East to are still in the race for promotion and the Division One title. Barley To Face Pensnett In Quarter-Final - (17th February 2008) Barley will face Pensnett Panthers in The Lester Cup quarter final. Barley have never been past the first round of the Lester Cup before but a run of pure fortune has lead Barley to a quarter final. A bye in round 1 followed by another bye in round 2 due to Thotnycroft FC's resignation from the lead and then finally after defeat to TC United in round 3, TC were later disqualified from the competition for fielding and unregistered player. The quarter-final gives some life and hope to Barley's poor season so far. The Match will take place on Sunday 23rd March 2008 2.15pm kick off at the Dell Stadium. BARLEY NIGHT OUT - (30th January 2008) Barley are to hold a night out on Friday 4th April 2008. The night will take place at Wolverhampton Racecourse, Dunstall, Wolverhampton. Following a similar event back in October 2007 at Monmore Green Stadium Funrazor.com have offered Barley another chance to help raise funds for the club and also help drum up business for the Wolverhampton Racecourse. Barley Drawn Away In First Ever Birmingham Junior Cup Match - (9th September 2007) Barley have been drawn against Wolverhampton Sunday League Division Three side Bagot Arms in the 1st Round of the Birmingham Junior Cup. Barley know little about the side and have mixed feelings about the draw. The match will see an early Kick-Off at 10.30am however Barley should not have to travel to far against the local side. Beacon Cup Draws - (22nd August 2007) Barley Mow Wanderers have finally made it through the Lester Charity Cup First Round. Only Six sides were drawn in the first round and Barley at last avoided them being drawn into Round 2. As it happens Barley's apponents Thornycroft FC have resigned from the league with immediate effect meaning Barley now have a bye from Round 2 and we play there first Lester Cup match amoungst the last sixteen. The Beacon Cup see's Barley drawn into Group C and will face newly promoted Village Hotel, new team AC Harbourne and league old boys reformed Sedgley White Lions West. Barley Announce Squad Numbers For New Season - (15th July 2007) Barley Transfer Activity - (15th July 2007) Barley have recruited two more players for the 2007/2008 campaign. Goalkeeper Andy Bishop has breen brought in to challenge for the number one spot. Also Barley have boosted there midfield with 25year old Phil Higginson. Both players are awaiting league approval but have been handed the number 21 and number 15 shirts for the new season. Barley Announce Pre-Season Friendlys - (1st July 2007) Barley Release Six PLayers - (1st July 2007) Barley returned back training today with six of last seasons players. Brothers Darren Cartwright and Gareth Hadden have not rejoined the squad and will be looking to apply there trade elsewhere. Adam Marson has also not resigned as he did not play a single game last year. The Final three Mark Green who was forced out for long periods last season has not resigned and Mike Knott and Chris Hayward have also been let go after failing to make any impression last term. On the other side of the coin, Barley have three new players ready to sign. Chris Campbell (Midfield), Andy McGregor (Defence) and Tom Gripton (Midfield) are all just awaiting league approval for them to become Barley players.
