Littler Cup Final 2006.         At Wharton Cons Winsford.
Sunday 3rd September.
Congratulations to Frodsham Red Lion A who snatched the Littler Cup away from the fingertips of Castle Private in an exciting final game where Andy Jackson was left to pull back..what turned out to be just to many to force a draw or win,but in all fairness Jim Wikeley stayed composed enough to take Red Lion past the point of no return for Castle. Castles respected and experienced players today just did not shine to give the rest of the team that cushion they are used to and in the end despite some good close tussles from the rest!..Red Lion in the end got and deserved the "prize"?No more to say than ..well done Frodsham Red Lion and hard luck to Castle Private as a spectator I certainly enjoyed the game along with quite a good crowd at Wharton Cons.

Every now and again two teams end the season equal in details, despite being in second position nearly all season Wharton Cons C fluffed the last two games and allowed Shavington A to make up a deficit of over 100 chalks and end up on equal points in the final game of the season at home to Sandbach Park .Wharton Cons C went to Helsby with 76 in hand but only managed a meagre 160...plus the 76 giving a toal of 236,whilst Shavington scored 236 thus as the table below shows creating a play off situation at a date and neutral venue to be arrange for the priveledge of joining Winnington A in Div 2.So in the game to come I am sure Wharton Cons C will be up to show the previous two games were just a blip and also of course Shavington who have their tales up at the moment will fancy their chance without doubt... we shall see who will join Winnington .......lets hope its a good venue with a good hearted and enjoyable outcome whichever team is the victor !

A very good afternoons bowling resulted in a very deserved final win for Robert Winnington and Nicola Dolby here at Wharton Cons Winsford today.

At one stage it looked as if the weather would scupper the event but it did hold off enough for the event to finalise and the Red Lion Frodsham couple in a very good final game collected the first prize.Well done both and a big thanks to all who entered and watched this afternoon.Keep an eye here for news of other similar events here in Winsford at the Cons.

In an earlier round Dave and Audrey Haspell take on Robert and Nicola.

Ashley Blackburn taking great in an end.

Robert Winnington delivers, closely watched by Jason Cornes.

Thirsty stuff this watching as Phil Curzon demonstrates.

Andy Houghton watched by Jason Cornes.
