Billericay Festival
in St. Mary Magdalen, High Street
Friday
13th - Sunday 15th June
'Past, Present & Future' in flowers, art and music.
On the weekend of 13th – 15th June 2008 Churches Together in Billericay are planning to hold a Festival in St Mary’s Church in the High Street. The theme for the weekend is Billericay - Past, Present & Future. This will be illustrated with flowers and artefacts by local churches and schools and displays by local clubs and societies.
This will be a major event in the Town. As well as all the churches who are part of the ecumenical organising group - Churches Together in Billericay - we are hoping to involve as many local organisations and businesses as possible. We are approaching these to help with sponsorship. We anticipate that this will attract visitors into the High Street for the three days of the Festival to the benefit of the community as a whole.
Our MP John Baron has agreed to open the proceedings on the Friday, with Rev Warner Pidgeon from Christ Church conducting the Dedication Service. Proceeds from the Festival will be divided between St Luke’s Hospice and the further refurbishment of St Mary’s.
The opening times are 10am – 6pm on the Friday and Saturday and 2pm – 5pm on Sunday.
Offers of assistance, either financial or practical would be welcome. Telephone 01277 622297 for more information. Janet Lee Secretary, Churches Together in Billericay.
