The Mayflower Morris Men

STOCK DRAMA GROUP
Wednesday 23 April to Saturday 26     April 2008.  MURDER MISTAKEN is a thriller directed by Mary Cole.   The plot revolves around a young Estate Agent’s clerk, who has married for money and murders for money!

BRENTWOOD OPERATIC SOCIETY – 42 STREET
Saturday 17th May. The Society is once again running a coach to its production of 42nd St at The Queen's Theatre Hornchurch on.  Performance commences at 2.30pm.  Pick-ups will commence at 1.00pm.  Inclusive price £16 per person for return coach trip and theatre ticket.  As previously, pick-up points will be arranged to accommodate passengers nearer the time.

Saturday April 19 from 5 to 8pm. FAMILY FUN NIGHT. Come along for a Family Fun Night with lots of stalls, quizzes and bingo. BBQ and licensed bar. Everyone welcome

 

Rotary Club of Billericay – Art Exhibition 2008.
Following the recent refurbishment works at St Mary Magdalen Church in the High Street, it has been chosen as the venue for the club’s Art Exhibition. The removal of the pews and the installation of a flat floor have enlarged the display area available and it is planned to incorporate a “Schools” Art Competition.
Local Schools have been invited to submit entries, which will be divided into two Junior and two Senior Classes. Initial selection will be carried out internally at the schools, with independent judges awarding the final accolades; some 60 of the entries will be on display during the exhibition.
Exhibition will be open on Friday 25th & Saturday 26th April from 10.00am – 5.00pm and Sunday 27th April from 11.00am – 4.00pm. Original Water Colours, Oils, Pastels etc.will be on Sale. This is a Charity Event raising funds for St. Luke’s Hospice. Participating Artists are required and entry forms can be obtained from: - Peter. D. J. Murray Ins. 98 High Street, Billericay.

Monday April 21 at 8pm in The Day Centre, Chantry Way. If you are interested in flowers, particularly Chrysanthemums then you will no doubt enjoy the talk, which will be given by P.E. Smith, entitled “Chrysanthemums”

Wednesday April 16 at 2pm in the W.I. Hall, St Edith’s Lane. Mrs Margaret Mills will entertain members with a talk about the work of the Citizens Advice Bureau.

BILLERICAY ARCHAEOLOGICAL & HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Monday April 14 at 8pm in The Fold, Laindon Road. A short A.G.M. followed by a talk given by Nicolas Charrington entitled “Layer Marney Tower”

  

LITTLE BURSTEAD W. I. hold their meetings on the second Thursday of the month in Little Burstead Village Hall at 2pm. All visitors are welcome.

FAIRTRADE QUIZ
Thank you to those who took part in the Fairtrade quiz at the launch event to announce that Billericay has achieved Fairtrade Town status held in St Mary's on March 8th.  The entrants were obviously well informed and the completed forms were to a high standard.  We hope that those less knowledgeable learnt more from the morning.  The winner of the quiz was Jean Edwards who lives in Billericay
