Coach Trips

Please note that all payments should be made as soon as possible and sent to the person named on the trip advertisement. Cheques should be made payable to BDRA and the trip title shown on the back of the cheque. Departure points for all trips: GG - Gooseberry Green, bus stop at roundabout, OA – Orchard Avenue, approaching Stock Road, LR – Laindon Road, bus stop between Sun Corner and the fire station, SG – South Green, bus stop to Wickford, opposite the retirement apartments.
Please note – When a trip is confirmed the fare must be paid as soon as possible. If concession prices are quoted (ie seniors, children) these should be requested at the time of booking or the full price will apply. In the event that you need to cancel all efforts will be made to resell your seats, however if we are unable to resell your seats you are liable for payment.

SUNDAY 21ST MAY DOVER CASTLE AND SECRET WAR TUNNELS

Dominating the skyline on the famous White Cliffs, Dover Castle and the labyrinth of tunnels beneath it provide a fascinating day out.
There are many discoveries to be made in the castle and also included is a tour deep underground into the maze of the secret wartime tunnels. You can visit the telecommunications room, underground hospital and enjoy audio visual effects and film clips of Britain at war. All tours are included in the price.
 There are several cafes and a restaurant or bring your own food and eat in the picnic area. Covered land trains run most days and mobility scooters are available on a first come basis.

 PLEASE NOTE: SENSIBLE SHOES should be worn because of the cobbles. NO JEANS or TRAINERS are allowed and JACKET AND TIE MUST BE WORN BY THE MEN. Failure to adhere to the dress code and entry to the tower will be denied.

TUESDAY 2OTH JUNE – TOUR OF RAF MILDENHALL AIR BASE INCLUDING LUNCH

This is a great opportunity to see a working air base and a first for BDRA. Our guide will meet us after we have passed through security and the tour will include a visit to a Mission Support Unit, a briefing from the 351st Air Refuelling Squadron a tour of a KC-135 Stratotanker.
Included in our tour is a buffet style, three course lunch in The Galaxy Club, Entrée: Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, (served with vegetables and potato of the day). Vegetarian Entrée: Pasta Marinara.
Because this is a working base and an active military runway details of citizenship, a valid form of photo ID – a passport or driver’s licence or government issued ID card are required. On the day our guide will give us a safety briefing which is strictly adhered to.
 Numbers are limited on this tour so early booking is advised.
