STEPPING FORWARD
BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

Bereavement is something which most people experience at some time in their lives. When someone important and close to them dies their whole world can appear to turn upside down.
“Stepping Forward” has been launched by Dee and Linda, pictured opposite, to give support to families in the community who have suffered bereavement.
This is a time of very painful emotions and it sometimes helps to talk to other individuals who can relate to their feelings.
On a monthly basis there is the opportunity to come along and hear what support and help is available. The venue is The Village Bar and Grill, 120 High Street, Billericay (next To Waitrose) between 10.00am and 12.00 noon. This is a very informal meeting with the opportunity for us to introduce ourselves and explain what we are aiming to achieve and what support we can offer. The first meeting was held on Saturday, December 1st 2007, the next will be on Saturday January 5th 2008.
When people want to start taking up their life again, renewing old interests, finding new ones and meeting new friends our Social events might be the way forward. They are held regularly each month and include Quiz Nights, Cockney Nights and Race Nights. The Billericay Cricket Club in Blunts Wall Road has kindly sponsored the group by providing the venue for these events. For additional information, ring Dee on 01268 417886 e-mail: dee.rowsell@blueyonder.co.uk , or Linda on 07942 788292.
One of the latest fund raising activities was a Cockney Night held on Saturday October 27 in the Cricket Club, it was a great success and was followed by a Race Night on Wednesday November 14. The group intends to have a Christmas party on Saturday December 8.
