you are here: Home - Newsletter - December 2015/January 2016 -  Lake Meadows

Winter days are here and by the time you read this, Christmas will nearly be upon us. Maybe snow will even cast her magic spell upon Lake Meadows this year! Each season brings a different aspect to the park and winter walks can rejuvenate and energize us by getting us outdoors in the fresh air.  Do remember our ‘Carols in the Park’ on Saturday December 12th at 4.30pm by the boathouse (bring a torch).
The Friends continue to keep an eye on the park even in winter. The gardens have been tidied and we hope that work will soon be underway on resurfacing the paths in the Garden of the Child. Everyone we meet says what an amazing job we have done in the park during the past three years and we hope to continue to make improvements and maintain them!
At a recent brainstorming session, many ideas were discussed to both consolidate and develop our ideas. Plans are being put in place to create small sub-groups looking at specific aspects such as gardens, communications (website, publicity, etc) education, information centre, ecology and also for planning each of our events. We are looking for people who would be interested in joining one of these small groups, meeting just three or four times a year.
If you are interested or have particular skills that you could help us with, then please contact the Friends of Lake Meadows:
