Stomping at Stonyhill 
Stonyhill Indoor Bowls Club (Brentwood Road, Herongate, on the A128) is holding a Jazz Night with Hugh Rainey and his Jazzmen on Friday 13 February.  Address is.  Tickets now on sale £10.  There is a licensed bar and plenty of parking.  Come early to get a seat.  This is expected to be a sell-out so book early. Ring 01277 811848 for more information.

“The Creation”
The Billericay Choral Society presents The Creation by Haydn, Saturday 28th March 2009 at 7.45pm in the United Reformed Church, Chapel Street, Billericay.
This oration expresses Haydn's vision of the creation, as told in the Bible and John Milton's poem Paradise Lost. The Creation is considered Joseph Haydn's greatest work. He worked relentlessly on this oratorio just before the turn of the 19th century. Haydn, of the time he was working on this enormous composition, said: "Never had I been as devout as when I was composing The Creation. Everyday I fell to my knees and prayed to God to give me strength for my work."

Where There’s a Will
Billericay Flower Arranging Group begins the New Year with its AGM at 8pm on Wednesday 4 February in the West Room of the WI Hall, St Edith’s Lane, Billericay. Following an analysis of the previous year, always dispensed swiftly but accurately, enrolments for the 2009 – at £16 for the year – will take place. Christopher Martin will then regale the meeting with his always humorous recollections as an undertaker entitled “Where there’s a Will there’s a Funeral” Visitors are always welcome as are seasoned members and aspiring new ones, For further details please ring 624255.

Mr Julian Whybra will give a talk to members of the Society entitled ”Pilgrims from Billericay to America” on Monday 9 February at 8pm in The Fold, 72 Laindon Road, Billericay.

Billericay Ceramic Circle
The subject of a talk to be given by Mr Charles Dawson, to members of the Circle, will be “Suzie Cooper”. The event will commence at 7.30pm on Monday 9 February and will be held in the Emmanuel Church, Laindon Road, Billericay.

“Developments at Hyde Hall“ is the subject of a talk to be given by Ian LeGros to members of the Society on Monday 16 February commencing at 8pm in the Day Centre, Chantry way, Billeircay.

Children’s Craft Workshop from 10am to 12noon on Thursday 19 February. An opportunity for 7to11 year olds to have fun and try out a variety of fascinating crafts.

Opera UNo Saturday 28 February at 7.30pm. By popular demand Opera Uno make a welcome return to The Fold. Accompanied by Martyn Heald, they will perform a melange of musical items from your favourite Operas and operattas. Tockets £9.

University of the Third age
The Basildon & Billericay Branch of the U3A will be meeting on Friday 27 February at 2.30pm in the Pastoral Centre, Laindon Road. Mr Simon Gilbert will give talk entitled “Musical Memories from Film & Cinema”.

The Billericay Society
The Society meets at 8pm in The Day Centre, Chantry Way on the third Wednesday of the month. 

Wednesday 18 February         Tony Curtis will give a slide show entitled “The Andes and Amazon Adventure”.

Ingatestone Choral Society
The choir will be performing the Mozart Requiem Mass on Sunday 15th March 2009 at 6.00.pm. in All Saints’ Church, Stock. No tickets will be required. A retiring collection will be taken for a local charity.
