The advent of a new year brings new projects and challenges in Lake Meadows. Our first event of 2017 will be bird and bat box building on Saturday 18th February at 10 am, when we invite families to come along and create some bird and bat boxes from our kits, which will be put up in appropriate places around the park. This event is free to members of FoLM and 3 for families who are non-members. Booking is essential please, so contact our secretary in advance to make sure we have the right amount of materials ready.

The following Saturday, 25th February, our Working Party will take place. We would like as many members as possible to come along and help to clear the Flower Meadow in readiness for the Basildon Park’s Team to prepare the ground for this year’s display. As usual we will meet at 9.30 am.

Our annual Photographic Competition kicked off in January. We are thrilled to bring you the chance to win one of our great cash prizes. You can take up to four photos of anything in the park between now and the end of August. We are looking for unusual shots of wildlife, people in the park, seasons, events or scenes, which promote the park and show good composition, originality and artistic appeal. So get snapping those beautiful winter scenes around the park.

See our website
www.lakemeadows.org.uk for details and entry forms which must be delivered by midnight on August 31st 2017 by email to photo@lakemeadows.org.uk or ring 07843 860 135 for further details.

A big thank you to all those who joined us for Carols in the Park way back in December. We were genuinely overwhelmed by the support this event received!
