you are here: Home - Newsletter - July/August 2015 -  Lake Meadows

We have watched with delight as children have flocked to gaze up at the Lake Meadows’ Wizard and climb with glee over the Dragon. Our new Information Centre, where you will be able to obtain our marvellous book about these characters, will be staffed by volunteers so the opening hours will vary according to who is available. Anybody with an hour or so to spare during weekdays or at weekends would help to increase the hours we can man the centre.
Before many of our projects go ahead we try to carry out a survey with those passing through the park. The feedback we received when we were considering installing outdoor gym equipment was very positive from all age groups and since it has arrived, near to the swimming pool, we have indeed been happy to witness the variance in age of people using it. We hope many local residents will feel the benefits from it!
Our gardening group is comprised of a small but dedicated band of volunteers and we have now decided that it will meet every Tuesday from 9.30am, weather permitting. No more trying to work out whether it is the right Tuesday or having to delay things by weeks if the weather is poor. Please come along if you have an hour to spare.
Please dig out your photos taken in the park and enter them into our current competition. All details are on our website and you might have that winning snap!
All dog owners can spend the summer pampering their pooches and making sure they are in tip top condition ready for Bark in the Park in Lake Meadows on 19th September. This year there will be more classes and more displays than ever so come along and show off your canine friends!
