Once again, we will be staging ‘Jazz in the Park’, our free music concert. Join us from 4pm on Saturday 8th July and enjoy some favourite acts returning, as well some new ones. Nimrod Margolit and his band will be joined again by some young players as well as Latalia singing. Then The Law, who regularly play at The Railway Inn, will be followed by Drew Levi on keyboard. Finally, Abacus, a new band led by John Summerton, will round off the event. Weather permitting, we can promise you a great afternoon of music. Just bring friends and family, chairs and a picnic!

Our gardeners have been busy planting out the geraniums for the summer and the new yellow and pink roses are coming into bloom. Many people have been asking about the Flower Meadow this year, which unfortunately was contaminated last summer by an invasive redshank weed. The Parks’ team have been working to eradicate this and the area was due for re-seeding in June. Depending on the weather, they still hope that there will be a field of flowers, although they will be later flowering this year.
The boathouse end of the lake has been drying out during the past few months and the reshaping of the bank will start in coming weeks, prior to the planting of the new reedbed and landscaping in the autumn.
A reminder that our Photographic Competition is running until midnight on 31st August. There are cash prizes available for adult and junior winners. All the relevant details and the entry form are on our website:
