Norsey Wood Society  

Open Meeting at The Information Centre, Norsey Wood on Monday 25 June commencing at 7.45pm. Roger and Margaret Lunn will give a talk entitled “Herbs in Stock” which is the name of their nursery in Whites Hill, Stock.

Tuesday, 12th June at 8.15 pm in the Canon Roche Hall, Laindon Road, Billericay. Mrs Paula Short will talk on "Holidaying in China".Visitors welcome.   01277 622938.

Tuesday June 19 at 8pm The Society will visit the Basildon Philatelic Society.
Thursday June 21 at 8pm in The Fold, Laindon Road a talk by Mr Brian Sole entitled “Thematics – How to display and exhibit”
Thursday July 5 at 8pm in The Fold, Laindon Road. Sheila Foster will be presenting a display entitled “Pot Pouri”.

Billericay Horticultural Society

Monday June 18 at 8pm. Members only evening visit to Ulting Wick

Billericay Society

Wednesday June 20 at 8pm in the Day Centre, Chantry WayBart Kent will give a talk entitled “Sixty Years of This and That”
The Society is organising a series of walks on Wednesday evenings which will start at 7.15pm and finish well before dark. A ‘hat collection’ will normally be taken for the benefit of the reserve visited.
Wednesday June 27 meet at Somerfield car park Queens Park, opposite the opticians. Footpath walk to Remus Horse Sanctuary to meet the animals. Free refreshments. Donations in cash or kind will be very welcome.
Wednesday July 4 Meet at Norsey Wood car park. Working party volunteers will show visitors the results of their work.

Billericay Archaeological & Historical Society

Monday June 11 at 8pm in The Fold, Laindon Road. Dr J Pearson will talk about “Essex Workhouses in the 18th Century”.

The Great Burstead P.E.P. Club

The Great Burstead P.E.P. Club (People Enjoying Pensions) Club aims to provide interesting speakers to give talks on a wide variety of subjects to its members. There is entertainment at Christmas, when mince pies are provided, and New Year.
The club meets in the afternoon on the second Tuesday of the month in the Great Burstead Parish Hall commencing at 2pm and finishing at about 4pm.
The annual subscription is £8 whilst the weekly cost of tea and biscuits is 50p.

Billericay Town Council - Billericay in Bloom

Don’t forget to get send in your entries for the 10th Billericay in Bloom competition. The closing date is noon on 27th June. Judging takes place on 8th and 9th July.
NOTE. ALL BACK GARDENS WILL BE JUDGED ON SUNDAY 8TH. If you are not going to be there try to arrange for a neighbour to let the judges in and notify the Town clerk that you have done this.
All entrants are invited to the prize giving on Friday 20th July. At the Canon Roche hall.

Orchid Cycle

Sunday June 10th, Lake Meadows, Billericay. In aid of ORCHID fighting male cancer 20, 40, 75 or 100 mile rides through Essex countryside raising money for research into prostate and testicular cancer. Programme: 8.00am – 75 and 100 Mile Riders start.  9.00am – 20 and 40 Mile Riders Start.
