British Heart Foundation. The organizers of the Quiz Evening held at Mayflower High School on May 10 are extremely grateful to all those people who attended the event which raised £991, the second highest amount since the Quiz evenings began in 2001.

Paradiso – Maurizio Malgnini (piano), Mireia Ferrer (violin) and

Rosebay W.I. On Wednesday 25 June at 8pm in Hannakins Farm Community Centre, Rosebay Avenue, Queens Park Mr. E.G. Pretty MBE will entertain members with a talk entitled “My Time at Audley End”.
Cantabile Singers. The summer concert, conducted by Sheelagh Perkins and accompanied by Adrian Ure, is entitled “Songs for Summer” and will celebrate Midsummer’s Day with a programme laced with flowers and songs of love including pieces by Gustav Holst, Sir Arthur Sullivan, Andrew Lloyd Webber and much more. A Cream Tea in aid of St Luke’s Hospice is to be held at the home of Christabel and Peter Strong who live at the Ivy House, Laindon Road, Little Burstead on Monday 9 June from 2 to 4pm. Price £3.50 includes Tea, Cake, Cakes and Cream, at leisure in a beautiful garden, various stalls including tombola, gifts, bric-a-brac, books and a raffle. There is ample off-street parking. This event was originally held in the garden of Joyce Norris at Great Burstead.

Buttsbury Junior School Summer Bonanza
To be held on Saturday 28th of June from 2PM at the Buttsbury Junior
School, Norsey View Drive. There will be performances from The Fusion
Dance Troupe and the Brentwood Bullets Cheerleaders along with numerous
sideshows, games, raffles and a Bar-B-Q. Something for everyone and
everyone is welcome.
Stock Drama Group
Our Annual General Meeting is to be held on Thursday 26th June 2008 – 8.00pm. at the Village Hall. A short friendly meeting is followed by cheese and wine. If you are interested in becoming a member of the group in either an acting capacity or backstage help, please come along and meet members of the group.
