The Child has been Found

For those of you that haven’t heard our fabulous news, we can announce that the treasured statue, stolen on 14th February from The Garden of the Child, has been recovered! It was found abandoned in Brentwood and was returned to Basildon Borough Council by the police.
The statue will be returned to its rightful place in the park once it is restored and work has been carried out on the plinth. The fund established to replace the statue will now be used for its restoration and installation by the sculptor, the foundry and other specialists.
Thanks go to everyone that donated to the fund and you can rest assured that the money will enable the statue to regain its proper place once more. We will keep you informed as to when the reinstallation will take place.
If you would like to take part in the Tree Walk at 7.30pm on 22nd June please contact us in the usual way.
On Wednesday 28th June at 10.30am we will be holding a Coffee morning at the Community Room next to the café. All members and prospective members are cordially invited.
