welcome the opportunity to introduce myself as the Membership Coordinator
for the BDRA.
My wife and I are originally from East London, moving to Billericay in 1975 when we married. Our daughter and son both attended St Peters School and we are pleased that our two grandchildren have followed in their footsteps.
I retired in February 2015, at the age of 60, from a Private Bank in London after 40 years of continuous service.
During my time at the Bank I worked in numerous departments with my main focus being Customer Service activities. Following a period of time within Information Technology. I moved to Internal Audit and served as the Bank’s Data Protection Officer.
My main hobby is motorcycle road riding and I am a member of the Royal British Legion (RBL) Riders Branch.
Part of my role with the BDRA will be to represent the area secretaries and delivery volunteers on the Executive Committee and I look forward to working with the area secretaries and also hope to meet as many delivery volunteers as possible.
During 2016 the Association’s 90th year the BDRA hopes to raise the membership profile in so that it can strengthen representation of Residents of Billericay. My first task will be to compile and maintain a centralised database of members and volunteers, so that we can gain knowledge of areas of the district that do not currently benefit from membership.
I believe that becoming the BDRA membership co-ordinator will provide me with an opportunity to apply the skills and experience that I gained whilst working at the Bank, in a totally new environment and context.
The BDRA continuously looks at its role within the community and how improvements can be made. As such, your views are paramount and you are encouraged to contact me regarding membership issues on the usual email email@example.com. Look forward to meeting you at the AGM in May.
