Coach Trips

Please note that all payments should be made as soon as possible and sent to the person named on the trip advertisement. Cheques should be made payable to BDRA and the trip title shown on the back of the cheque. Departure points for all trips: GG - Gooseberry Green, bus stop at roundabout, OA – Orchard Avenue, approaching Stock Road, LR – Laindon Road, bus stop between Sun Corner and the fire station, SG – South Green, bus stop to Wickford, opposite the retirement apartments.
Please note – When a trip is confirmed the fare must be paid as soon as possible. If concession prices are quoted (ie seniors, children) these should be requested at the time of booking or the full price will apply. In the event that you need to cancel all efforts will be made to resell your seats, however if we are unable to resell your seats you are liable for payment.


SATURDAY 18TH MARCH 2017 – THE LONDON FILM LOCATIONS TOUR, INCLUDING TWO COURSE CARVERY WITH COFFEE.
Arrive at Canary Wharf for free time to explore the shops, or a visit to The London Museum of Docklands, which has free entry and enjoy a light lunch before our afternoon tour.
We meet our Blue Badge guide at 2.30pm for an entertaining afternoon seeing many of London's greatest sights  - The Tower of London, St. Paul's, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square, whilst our guide reveals fascinating facts about how filming in London works – what hoops the film companies have to jump through if they want to close Westminster Bridge or have a hundred naked people walk down Oxford Street.
We'll also see where the film stars stay when they are filming in London. This enjoyable romp through the greatest film city in the world ends at The President Hotel where we will have a two course carvery with coffee before our journey home.

THURSDAY 20TH APRIL – ROYAL TUNBRIDGE WELLS - POLHILL GARDEN CENTRE.
On leaving Billericay we make our way to the charming historic town of Royal Tunbridge Wells which has been attracting visitors for 400 years.
We will be there for lunch and time to explore The Pantiles, the old part of the town. There are countless delectable restaurants and shops galore to lose yourself in, from laid back indie styles to unique boutiques. You'll easily find that exclusive item to show off back home.
If you would prefer some history you must take the self-guided Heritage Walking Trail and get the insider info on it's fascinating spa town history. A map is available to print off on the web site, or you can call in the tourist information centre where they will be pleased to help you.
After lunch we will make our way to Polhill Garden Centre in Sevenoaks. It is an award winning garden centre, family owned  with over 50 years of gardening experience and set in 30 acres, they offer the very best plants from local nurseries.  It is not only a garden centre Polhill is a shopping village for all your needs for home and garden, along with a food hall that offers the very best of British produce. 
Before our journey home enjoy tea and maybe a slice of cake in Novell's Bistro & Bakery in the centre of Polhill's food hall.

SUNDAY 21ST MAY DOVER CASTLE AND SECRET WAR TUNNELS

Dominating the skyline on the famous White Cliffs, Dover Castle and the labyrinth of tunnels beneath it provide a fascinating day out.
There are many discoveries to be made in the castle and also included is a tour deep underground into the maze of the secret wartime tunnels. You can visit the telecommunications room, underground hospital and enjoy audio visual effects and film clips of Britain at war. All tours are included in the price.
 There are several cafes and a restaurant or bring your own food and eat in the picnic area. Covered land trains run most days and mobility scooters are available on a first come basis.

WEDNESDAY 3RD MAY CEREMONY OF THE KEYS AT THE TOWER OF LONDON 
FULL PLEASE PAY NOW.

 
Join us for this unique trip to witness the Ceremony of the Keys, the traditional locking up of the Tower of London. This has taken place every night come rain or shine for the last 700 years.  We meet our Yeoman guide at 7.30pm for a private tour of the Tower. After the tour we go to the Yeoman's Warders mess for dinner which will be at about 8.30pm and will consist of a cold buffet with a dessert. Vegetarian option available.
Drinks will be available at the bar but are NOT included in the price.
  After our meal we will witness the Ceremony of the Keys, following the ceremony we will return to the mess for a raffle and a last drink.

 PLEASE NOTE: SENSIBLE SHOES should be worn because of the cobbles. NO JEANS or TRAINERS are allowed and JACKET AND TIE MUST BE WORN BY THE MEN. Failure to adhere to the dress code and entry to the tower will be denied.
