The East Area Committee wrote to Basildon District Council and District Councillors to determine the legal position regarding mobile traders at Barleylands Farm Shop and have received the following comments in reply: a)         Environmental Health Officers have inspected the equipment of the mobile food vendors at this site and they are satisfied that all hygiene requirements are being met. b)         Trading by these vendors is a breach of planning control and is already the subject of an enforcement order. Should compliance not be forthcoming in the very near future papers will be passed to the Council’s Legal Services to instigate prosecution proceedings.
