Buttsbury Arts Society
On Friday 21 November &
Saturday 22 November the society is holding its Annual Art Exhibition from
10am to 4.30pm in The Fold, 72 Laindon Road, Billericay. Work in all mediums
will be on show by this well known group of local artists. Admission is

The Cantabile Singers
You are invited to join the
Cantabile Singers for their concert entitled “Christmas Cheer” on Saturday 6
December at 8pm in the Mayflower Hall, Chapel Street, Billericay. Tickets

Essex Police Choir
The Essex Police Choir will
be giving a concert on Saturday 15 November at 7.30pm in St Peter’s Church,
Rayleigh Road, Hutton. Admission £7 includes light refreshments. Proceeds
for Trueloves Supported Living Group which provides social activities,
outings and holidays for people with learning difficulties.

Fair
What is an Alternative
Christmas Fair you may well ask yourself? You should visit Christ Church,
Perry Street, Billericay on Saturday 22nd November from10.30am to
3.00 pm to find out. It is rumoured that there will be Olive wood carvings &
sculptures, handmade soaps & bath products and handmade cards for sale and Jewellery stalls and
Craft stalls to keep you occupied. Should you wish to be considered “cool”
you can always “Send a Cow” – the mind boggles. Fairtrade refreshments will
be available as you browse and shop and light lunches will be served from 12:00noon
to1:30pm.

Howard Wallace and Friends, with “Dedicated Divas” will be giving a concert in Emmanuel Church on Saturday 15th November at 7.30 p.m. with the proceeds being shared between The British Heart Foundation and Emmanuel Church. Hutton and Shenfield Choral Society
The Choral Society will
present an evening of music on
SATURDAY 15TH NOVEMBER 2008 at 7.30pm in
the BRENTWOOD CENTRE.

include Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Five Mystical Songs by Vaughan Williams

BILLERICAY LIONS
In view of the recent very
successful film Billericay Lions are organising an ABBA evening with
entertainment provided by the tribute group ABBA BELLES which will be held

STOCK DRAMA GROUP
H A R V E Y is the November production of the Stock Drama Group. It is one of the longest running comedies in Broadway and West End history and has endeared generations of audiences with the relationship of the amiable Eldwood P. Dowd and his best friend, the 6’1” tall white rabbit which only he can see. Deborah Young is directing this production which runs from Wednesday 26 November to Saturday 29 November. Carol Service
The Friends of St. Mary
Magdalen are holding their annual Candle light Christmas Carol Service on
Wednesday 17th December in St. Mary Magdalen Church at 7:00pm. It will be
followed by the customary mulled wine and mince pies. A perfect way to start
the Christmas Season and everyone is very welcome.
Floral Arrangements
Two five-week courses in
flower arranging are being offered this year in Stock Village Hall each
Wednesday from 29 October to 16 November; mornings from 10am to 12 noon or
afternoon from 2pm to 4pm. Cost is £30. No previous experience is necessary.
This is an ideal way to try a new hobby.
Details are given each week
for the flowers, foliage and containers which are needed but there are no
exams, no assessments and no homework. The classes are friendly and informal
and cater for absolute beginners as well as the more experienced.

Ring Out, Wild Bells.
Here is a Christmas concert
with a difference, presented by The Choir For All Seasons on Sunday 7
December at 4pm in the Mayflower Hall, Chapel Street, Billericay. Not only
will they be welcoming, as guest performers, South Woodham Ferrers Handbell
Team but every item in the programme celebrates the traditions of bell
ringing, remembering the bell ringers themselves too. Aside from familiar
choral and carol favourites, vocal and piano solos are included to enhance
an already exciting concert. The concert title is the final festival carol,
celebrating the end of the year; “Ring out the old, Ring in the new”.

“Musical Bazaar”
Billericay United Reformed Church will be holding Bazaar featuring
“Musicals” on Saturday 8 November from 10am to 1pm in the Mayflower Hall,
Chapel Street, Billericay. There will be stalls, games, and refreshments as
well as Songs from the Shows. The stalls will include cakes, jams, toys,
handicraft, toiletries, jewellery, Traidcraft, Palestinian crafts, books,
CDs, DVDs, bric-a-brac tombola and Christmas cards. Everyone is welcome.
COOL YULE MULE
Christmas Musical for all the family. Billericay composer Peter White has just completed another family musical, which looks as though it could be as big a hit as his previous show ‘Angel Squadron’.
Cool Yule Mule tells the story of Christmas through the eyes of Max, the Donkey who carried Mary. Max is a Cool Mule who just loves the open road. We follow him on his adventures from Nazareth to Bethlehem and Jerusalem. The songs are full of fun and will have you tapping your feet from the start.
