Arthritis Care
The local branch of Arthritis Care meets on the 2nd Friday of each month at 7.30pm (excluding January) for an informal meeting which includes a Speaker, Sales Table, Raffle & Refreshments. Flower Arranging Workshop – A Victorian Christmas
A special day workshop is planned to help you prepare your home for the celebrations to come.
It is to be held on Wednesday December 9th in Stock Village Hall from 10am till about 3.30pm, with a break for a light lunch (included). Eileen Marsh and Anne Leeder will be supervising the course. This year course members will be preparing a three-tiered Victorian table centre and a Victorian posy. Beginners very welcome!

A Charity Lunch will be held at
Charity Concert
On Saturday 7th November, Howard Wallace and Friends will be giving another Charity Concert in Emmanuel Church in Billericay at 7.30 pm. This Concert will be a “Cabaret Evening” with non-stop music from musicals, film and opera performed by a group of talented singers and musicians.
The proceeds of the evening will go to Emmanuel Church for their work in the local community and the work of the Salvation Army. Please come and support this event and have a wonderful evening of music and raise much needed funds for those less fortunate in our community.
After 40 years conducting choirs and bands in the local area, including the formation of The Howard Wallace Chorale, this will be Howard’s final event. Ticket prices are £7.50 to include a glass of wine or soft drink with chocolates in the interval and are available from Jenny Wallace 01277 654814

Friday 20 and Saturday 21 October from 10.00am to 5.00pm Buttsbury Art Society Exhibition. Don't miss one of the best exhibitions of work by local artists in watercolour, pastel and oil. The Fold is always pleased to host this when its walls are transformed into a real gallery. It is certainly worth the walk from the High Street. Admission is free.
Saturday 28 November at 7.30pm. The Cameo Players invite you to “A Madcap Medieval Christmas”. An evening of Christmas Capers and Medieval Merriment. The Victorians might have re-invented Christmas but it was from Medieval England that they took their inspiration. People in those days certainly knew how to enjoy themselves and celebrate Christmas by singing carols, decorating their homes and overindulging in seasonal food and drink. Join the Cameo Players for a fun evening of music, prose and drama for the festive season with mince pies and mulled wine in the interval. Tickets £9.
Saturday 5 December at 4.00pm and 8.00pm. “Jazz at the Fold”. The Neville Dickie Trio. This is your last chance in 2009 to experience jazz in an intimate setting and performed by musicians of the highest repute. The world famous Neville Dickie returns to the Fold for two sessions, with his renowned Trio featuring John Crocker (clarinet/sax) and Norman Davey (drums). For the evening session, Goff Dubber replaces John Crocker on the reeds. Tickets £12 per session.

Billericay United Reform Church
The Church is holding a Bazaar with a Dickensian theme on Saturday 14 November from 10.00am to 1.00pm in the Mayflower Hall, Chapel Street, Billericay. Come along and enjoy yourselves, stay for a chat with a cup of coffee and a slice of home made cake. There will be stalls, games and refreshments and a visit from a Dickensian character. The stalls will include cakes, jams, toys, books, CDs, DVDs, bric-a-brac, tombola and Christmas cards. All are welcome.
