Billericay gets 10,000 Christmas boost

BILLERICAY has been given an early 10,000 Christmas present. It comes as a major grant from the National Lottery to the Rotary Club of Billericay Mayflower for staging the town’s annual Christmas Market.

The Mayflower Rotarians are pledged to spend the money in making this year’s market on Sunday December 4 even better for the expected 20,000-plus crowds.
The grant, one of the biggest of its kind in Essex comes under the “Lottery Fund Celebrate!” scheme recognising how communities are brought together under a huge “umbrella event”.
If you haven’t been before or for a few years make this a bumper year and come to support a day which “ is genuinely an event by the people of Billericay for the people of the town and the many thousands who come from nearby towns and villages to share in what is a great start to the Christmas celebrations."

We can promise the community of Billericay a great day out on December 4. The lottery grant will mean that we will be able to increase still further the funds which we are able to pass on to various charities.”
