Billericay Art Club is holding an exhibition and sale of  work at the Library, Billericay High Street from 5th October until 24th October. The Art Club meets every Thursday at 8pm in the church hall, Great Burstead.  New members of every ability are always welcome. We have a set programme which includes still life, portrait and themed evenings or, of course, you can always do your own thing. During the summer we have days out painting or just painting out locally before the the club begins.  We also have an art workshop during the year where members show us different aspects of their work. Billericay Ceramic Circle  Mr Keith Willing will be hosting a “Pot Night”  on Monday 12 October in Emmanuel Church Hall, Laindon Road, Billericay at 7.30 pm. when  the subject will be “Animals in Form and Decoration” Members are invited to bring pieces from their own collections. New members and guests are always welcome.

Billericay Parents Forum
is holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 13 October 2009 at 7.45pm in Queens Park Community Church. Sigrid Doktorowski, Parenting Expert from Essex County Council will be giving a talk about drugs, alcohol and parents' emotional reactions. All parents and carers of teenagers are welcome. On Wednesday 7 October at 2.00pm the Billericay W.I. Welcomes Mr Keith Lovell who will talk about “History Through the Sea Shanty”. Visitors are always welcome to join us at the W.I.  On the same day, 7 October, but at 8.00pm the Billericay Flower Arranging Group keenly anticipates the visit of Nick Grounds whose demonstration is entitled “Flotsam and Jetsam”. Visitors can share in this event for an entrance fee of £5.00, payable at the door of the W.I. Hall, St Edith's Lane, Billericay, to witness the wonder of this wizard from Wisbech!
June Crisfield will talk about “Wild Plants, Myths, Magic and Medicines” to the Billericay Society on Wednesday 21 October 2009 at 8.00pm in the Day Centre, Chantry way, Billericay. Everyone is welcome.

Mr Ron Cook will give a talk entitled “Britain's Contribution to the World” to members of the society on Monday 12 October at 8.00pm in The Fold, Laindon Road, Billericay
Billericay & District Philatelic Society will hold an “Open Night with Dealers” on Thursday 15 October at 8.00pm in The Fold, Laindon Road, Billericay.
Later in the year, Thursday, November 5, at 8.00pm in The Fold members will provide the entertainment with a “Thematics Night”.
Billericay Horticultural Society
“New Fruit, Flowers and Vegetables for 2100” is the title of the talk which Mr Andrew Tokely will give to members of the society on Monday19 October at 8.00pm in the Day Centre, Chantry Way, Billericay.

The Norsey Wood Society will be holding an Open Meeting on Monday 26 October at 7.45pm in the Day Centre, Chantry Way, Billericay. The University of the Third Age. U3A
Gary Baugh and members of the U3A will be taking a trip down “Memory Lane” to discover artefacts and recall memories of the 20th Century on Friday 23 October at 2.30pm in the Pastoral Centre, Laindon Road, Billericay.
Billericay Lions Ladies will be holding a fund raising coffee morning, with sales tables, on Saturday 24 October from 9.15am to 12.30pm in the Reading Rooms, High Street, Billericay. All monies raised to support local charities.

Friday 30 October  2.30pm. Giraffes Can't Dance. Children's Show performed by Blunderbus Theatre Company – a funny, touching musical play for children age 4 to 7 by Giles Andreae. Meet Gerald the giraffe and friends, as our storytellers whisk you away on a journey deep into the jungle. With bewitching music and hand crafted puppets, this promises to melt even the coldest of hearts. Tickets Adults £7, Children £6.

A Bazaar in aid of St Luke's Hospice will be held in the W.I. Hall. St Edith's Lane on Saturday 17 October from 9.15am to 12.00noon. Stalls will include gifts, cakes & preserves, toys, raffle and tombola. Donations will be appreciated, particularly  cakes, but please come and support us.
