Annual General Meeting

The Billericay District Residents’ Association will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Friday, May 16 2008 at 8pm in the Canon Roche Social Centre, Laindon Road, Billericay. The guest speaker will be Marc Davis, Locality Commissioning Director for Brentwood, Billericay and Wickford, of the South West Essex Primary Care Trust whose subject will be “HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE PEOPLE OF BILLERICAY”. It is hoped that a member of the management team of South Essex Partnership Trust (SEPT) will also be able to attend.

Following the Presentation, the Question & Answer session and the short meeting to deal with the formal AGM business, there will be light refreshments and an opportunity to meet the members of the Executive, East and Burstead Area Committees.

HELP NEEDED.

There has been a Residents’ Association, of one sort or another, in Billericay since 1926. It came into being when a group of commuters banded together to seek permission to construct a footpath to the railway station thus saving them a long and tedious walk. The object in forming such an organisation was to further the interests of the people of Billericay and for the past 82 years it has worked to achieve this objective.

The Association owes its longevity to the willingness of its members to be involved, to give their time to deliver the newsletter, collect subscriptions, sit on committees and stand for election to County and District Councils. The future too, must depend on members of the Association. Now to the point!!

I need help to put in order the membership records of the West Area of the Association. There are about 2800 members in the West area who receive the newsletter and usually membership lists are updated each year when subscriptions are collected; unfortunately this has not been done, properly, for the past two years. Consequently it is now a matter of some urgency.

If you are able to help, it would be advantageous to have 2/3 people, please contact me Trevor Stansfield
