Annual General Meeting
The Billericay District Residents’ Association will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Friday, 22 May 2009 at 8pm in the Canon Roche Social Centre, Laindon Road, Billericay. The guest speaker will be Patrick
Rothon, Chairman of the Radford Way Industrial Group, whose subject will be “Radford Way Industrial Estate”. Following the Presentation, the Question & Answer session and the short meeting to deal with the formal AGM business, there will be light refreshments and an opportunity to meet the members of the Executive, East and Burstead Area Committees.
All nominations and resolutions must be lodged with the Executive Secretary, Mrs M. Dann, 10 Cranmer Close, Billericay, CM12 0YG not less than 14 days before the date of the AGM given above.
Opportunities
Following Alan Waddoups's thought provoking article in the March edition, a rare opportunity has arisen to get involved with the running of the Residents' Association. This chance would suit a well organised computer literate person, who is willing to be entrusted with handling the membership records for the East Area of Billericay. Over 1500 households are served by about 50 road reps, and they all depend on the membership secretary to keep the records up to date, and to manage the collection of annual subscriptions.
Computer files, operating procedures, standard letters etc., have all been kept it good order by the current membership secretary, who will provide full handover support and training for the successful applicant.
Hurry now to phone the Chairman, John Buchanan, on 01277 656715 or e-mail him at chairman@bdra.org to stake your claim!
Spring is just around the corner and one can readily understand the urgent need to get fit that some people have. With this thought in mind the Association has, as always with the needs of our members uppermost, the ideal, nay the perfect way, of achieving that degree of physical perfection so envied by others.
We have, at the moment, a vacancy to deliver the newsletter to 22 houses in Vincent Way and Carlyle Gardens. Just a sufficient number of households not to put too great a strain on your physique at the beginning of your fitness regime and with plenty of time to reach a physical peak for the summer holidays. This truly is too great an opportunity to miss. Rather than spend time indoors pounding away on instruments of torture you will be enjoying the great outdoors and the elements of nature. Hurry before it is too late, give Trevor Stansfield a ring on 01277 623519 and offer your services – PLEASE.
