Annual General Meeting
Over 30
people attended the AGM of the BDRA held on Friday 22 May 2009 in the Canon
Roche Hall, Laindon Road, Billericay. The guest speaker was Patrick Rothon,
Chairman of the Radford Way Industrial Group who gave a very interesting and
informative talk about the history of the Radford Way Industrial Estate and
its development.
In his written report the Chairman, John Buchanan, highlighted the work of
the group producing the Billericay Design Statement which will define the
future character of Billericay. Additionally he wrote about planning
matters, in particular the development of the former Billericay School Farm
Site and the fact that the Local Development Plan for Basildon had not yet
been completed.
Mention was also made of the fact that Billericay had maintained its status
as a Fairtrade Town, an activity in which the BDRA had been involved.
In conclusion the chairman drew attention to the fact that the organisation
was run entirely by volunteers and thanked them all for their work during
the past year.
