The Friends continue to work in the park, as you will have seen in the new grasses area near the playground end of the lake, with the new water bird interpretive board.  Whilst at the other end of the lake, work is moving forward with both the improved bank and the Garden of the Child, which we hope will be completed soon.

Following a very successful ‘Jazz in the Park’ event in July, we are now preparing for our annual dog event ‘Bark in the Park’ on Saturday September 16th.

The Dog Event for all the family provides lots of fun classes for you to enter your dog into, plus a ‘Have a go Dog Scurry, Side Stalls and Children’s Rides. The Conquest-K9 Dog Display Team will be giving a ‘not to be missed’ demonstration too.

Dog show registration is from 10am and classes start at 11am. See
www.lakemeadows.org.uk for the rules and a registration form. We hope to see you there!

And finally, on Thursday September 28th at 7.45pm, we have our annual Open meeting, with an interesting speaker from Essex Wildlife Trust, talking about how we can all encourage wildlife. This will be preceded by a short AGM and will be held at Christ Church Hal, Perry Street. Everyone welcome!
