CIVIL, MILITARY AVIATION & SPACE RECORDINGS:

This section contains a small, but growing collection of aeronautical recordings, and more will be added here in due course. Some of these were recorded by myself, others sent in by friends so I could display them here, for which I am very grateful. Please note that copyright of these recordings belongs to the owner, and shouldn't be re-used with first getting their permission, if this is required please contact me for their details. All recordings are shown in .mp3 format, with the file size shown alongside them.

I'm pleased to say that after a very long search I finally tracked down my old recording of Phil Collins, formerley of Genesis, who was on board a Concorde speeding across the Atlantic whilst travelling from The Live Aid gig at Wembley to the one in Philadelphia in the the USA in 1985. Up he popped on 13333 kHz as clear as day, and below you can listen to this unique recording of Phil doing a live interview with BBC Television, and also recording an interview for the ABC channel in the US. What a pity that 21 years later people are still starving to death in Africa due to droughts and warlords, some things never change however hard well intentioned people seem to try.

DOZER on 235.150 MHz DOZER AND KY58 CHECK PLUS OPS CALL (144kb): - This recording was made by David P. and was made on 235.150 Mhz in early August. Sounds like they were testing encryption mode.
Phil Collins on Concorde for Live Aid PHIL COLLINS CONCORDE/BBC LIVE AID FROM 1985 - This rare and probably unique 7 minute recording was made in 1985 during the now famous "Live Aid" concert at Wembley Stadium. Phil had just performed there, and was racing across the Atlantic on board Concorde to perform later that day in Philadelphia at the US Live Aid Concert. Here you can hear Phil's interview with the BBC, which went out on BBC TV live and with no delay, and also his later interview with ABC. I have edited the gaps and pauses to reduce the size, but otherwise this is exactly as I heard it all those years ago on 13333 kHz USB. (957kb)
NA1SS INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION - NA1SS (187kb): - This recording was made by Sébastien Colin-Collet, F8IJV, as the International Space Station passed over his QTH in France. On the recording you can hear one of the Astronauts answering questions, and explaining about the spacesuits they use for spacewalks. My thanks to Seb for sharing these with us.
NA1SS INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION - NA1SS(2) (186kb): - Another recording made by Seb, F8IJV, as the International Space Station passed over his QTH in France on the 9th of November 2005. On this recording the Astronaut is speaking about radios, and how quickly the ISS can pass over a country.
