Horatio

Horatio Ever since he was a tiny cub, Horatio's loved boats; and as soon as he was old enough to talk, he's wanted one of his own. Well, he's got his wish, as you can see.

Here he is with the 'Bird Island', his very own yacht. True, she's not quite big enough for him to sail, but he's very proud of her, all the same - she was handbuilt especially for him, and there isn't another quite like her.
Horatio He likes to pretend he's Captain Horatio, sailing the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, with the sun glittering on the waves and a brisk Trade Wind in his sails, dropping anchor in sandy bays and walking on deserted beaches with only the occasional frigate bird for company. Being a very young bear, he might be tempted to build the odd sandcastle here and there, before he sails away again!
Horatio Horatio is made from a beautiful close-pile gold mohair, and I've hand-shaded his face to emphasise his cute features. He has glass eyes and a perle cotton nose, and his paw-pads are made from clipped mohair, handpainted. He has a cotter-pin joint for his head, while his arms and legs are securely thread-jointed for lots of posing possibilities. He's firmly stuffed with polyfill plus plenty of steel shot, for ballast! Standing, which he can do all by himself (even on deck in a force 7 gale, if he's to be believed) he's about 5" high.
Horatio Horatio is a "1 of 1" artist bear - none of my bears are exactly the same, as they are all hand-stitched and have their own unique character.
