Bears by Heather French

Jasper

Jasper and Moonstone Any dragons around here? That's enough excitement for one day Moonstone Jasper is an adventurous little bear, at least in his own imagination. He'd like nothing more than to be a knight on a great white charger, battling dragons and rescuing damsels in distress. Then again, perhaps, being a very young bear, he's not quite ready for such big adventures. He loves the stories, though, and he's learning to read them himself.

He even has his own horse - his trusty steed is called Moonstone, and he's swift, brave and loyal, ready to do his master's bidding whenever duty calls. Together, Jasper and Moonstone are always ready for another adventure, as long as they can be home in time for tea; and then there's the chance of a bedtime story (preferably one about knights and dragons), before they doze off and dream of what they'll do tomorrow.

Jasper is made from rust-coloured German mohair. His face has been hand-shaded to bring out his cute features, and his paw-pads are handpainted. His nose is embroidered with perle cotton, and he has shiny black glass eyes. He's filled with steel shot and polyfill, which gives him a lifelike, weighty feel. He has a cotter-pin joint for his head, and his arms and legs are thread jointed. Standing (which he can do all by himself), he's approximately 5" tall.

Moonstone is handmade from high-quality white felt and fur fabric. I've decorated his bridle and reins with bells and hand-stitched pennants, for a truly heraldic look.

Jasper is a "1 of 1" artist bear - none of my bears are exactly the same, as they are all hand-stitched and have their own unique character.
