Founded in Aston, Birmingham in 1857, Ansells merged with Ind Coope and Tetley Walker in 1961 to form Allied Breweries. The brewery in Aston stopped production in 1981 and the brand is now produced by Carlsberg-Tetely after their acquision of Allied in 1992.
