The Aying Brewery can trace its history back to 1876 when Johan Liebhard took over the family's tavern. Although the family connections are a little complicated, brewery is still privately owned by the same family. Ayinger has bought out two other Bavarian breweries, The Holbräu brewery in Traunstein and X. Münchbräu in Feldkirchen
