Banks DIH was founded by Jose Gomes D'Aguiar in the 1840 when he created a rum business. The company expanded under his sons who branched into the hotel, bar and soft drinks businesses. The company makes Coca Cola and Guinness under license from their parent companies. Banks Beer is best known in Barbados where the Bank (Barbados) Breweries is owned by Banks DIH Limited.
