Cástor Gómez Navarro decided to complement his chocolate
making business with a brewery and in 1922 the name Tropical was accepted as a
trade mark. The beer wasn't actually available until 1924. Compañía Cervecera de
Canarias, S.A. (CCC) is the result of a merger between the two largest companies
in the sector in the Canary Islands: CCC and SICAL. The merger in happened 1994.
