In 1850 a group of monks established an Abbey in Scourmont
near to Chimay. They established a brewery within the abbey Notre-Dame de
Scourmont in 1862 and it produces 4 types of beer. Chimay are one of the 7
breweries in the world who are allowed to market their beers as Trappist Beers.
