Brouweij De Gheest/Dendria

In 1816 Jean-Baptiste de Gheest established the Brouwerij
De Lelie in Aalst. In 1926 the brewery was renamed to the Brouwerij De Gheest
S.A. In 1963 it took over the Brouwerij Dendria in Geraardsbergen before itself
was taken over by Artois in 1979. In 1983 the Brouwerij Concordia of
Geraardsbergen was added to the group. In 1986 in an agreement with Chevalier
Marin Mechelen the brewery was renamed as Brouwerij Dendria. This agreement was
broken in 1986, the brewery closed and production moved to Leuven.
