The Duvel brewery was founded in 1871 by Jan-Leonard Moortgat and his sons and today the 4th generation of the family looks after the brewery. Duvel has continued to strengthen its position both home and abroad, entering into partnerships with breweries in America and the Czech Republic. Duvel is the Flemish word for Devil.
