Brauerei Eichhof AG

Location: Luzern, Switzerland
Website: Eichhof
It was in 1834 that the canton of Luzern gave license to Johann Baptist Guggenbeuhler to brew his own beer. Johann established his brewery later that year only for it to be taken over by Traugott Spiess in 1878. In 1890 the Bavarian Brewery was established and in 1922 the Brauerei Spiess and the Luzerner Brauhaus AG merged to form the Vereinigte Luzerner Brauereien AG, the United Brewery of Luzern. In 1960 the brewery was renamed to the Eichhof Brewery. It is the largest independent brewery in Switzerland.
