Location:         Einbeck, Germany

Website:          Einbecker Brauhaus

This history of beer from the town of Einbeck can be traced to a receipt dated the 28th of April 1378. The brewery was recorganised into its current title in 1967 and it was taken over by Schultheiss of Berlin who merged with Dortmunder Union to form Brau & Brunnen. In 1988 it aquired the Göttinger Brauhaus AG and in 1997 a private group of investors acquired 80% of shared in Einbecker from Brau & Brunnen. The brewery is best known for its range of Bock beers as Einbeck is assumed to be the home of bock beer.
