The Feldschösschen brewery was established by Theophil Roniger and Mathias Wüthrich in 1876 and became the Wüthrich & Roniger, Feldschlösschen Brewery in 1890. It acquired a number of breweries in the 1970's including Gurten and Valaisanne and in the 1980's Arkina Yverdon-les-Bains and Warteck. The business manoeuvres continued in the 1990's with the acquisition of cardinal and a merger between Feldschlösschen and Hürlimann in 1996. In 2000 the Carlsberg emporium acquired Feldschlösschen and merged it into their drinks empire.
The Feldschösschen brewery is almost as famous for its beer
as it is for the architecture of the brewery buildings. Here is an impressive
model of the
Feldschösschen brewery.
