Fuller, Smith & Turner’s Griffin Brewery in Chiswick has stood on the same site for more than 350 years. The partnership between the three brewers Fuller, Smith & Turner was formed in 1845 and direct descendants of the founding families are still involved in the running of the company. In November 2005, Fuller’s acquired George Gale & Co. (Gales Brewery), of Horndean, Hampshire. Since CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) first held their Champion Beer of Britain competition, Fuller's have won the Beer of the Year award five times.
