The Gilde Brewery has its roots back in 1526 in Hannover but it was in much more modern times that the Die Gilde Brauerei and the Lindener Aktien-Brauerei merged to form the Lindener Gilde-Bräu AG. In 1985 the brewery took over Hofbrauhaus Wolters and in 1990 the Hasseröder Brewery, two of Germany's well known regional breweries. In 2003 Gilde was taken into the InBev family of brewers.
