In 1812 the family of Count Arco inherited the the Adldorf Castle complete with brewery. Brewing has been in progress there since at least 1671. In 1821 the 15 year old Count Max von Arco inherited from his uncle the Valley Castle also complete with brewery. In 1871 Count Max bought the Baumgarten and the Hofmark Birnbach both with their breweries. Since 1989 and the death of Count Otto the brewery has been run by his wife, the Countess Monica.
