Brewing in Haccht stretches back at least 4 centuries but it was in 1914 that brewery was named the “Brewery and Dairy of Haacht”. In 1945 it took over the Bavaro-Belge Brewery at Brussells and the Vivegnis Brewery in Liege. Between 1945 and 1990 this acquisition of other breweries continued with the taking over of the Central brewery of Péruwelz, Brewery of Marchienne, Central Brewery of Wasmes, Grote Brouwerijen Atlas in Anderlecht, Brasserie de l'Aigle in Tournai, Brouwerij Lust in Courtrai, Brasserie of Bassée (France), Brouwerij Tielemans in Aarschot, Brewery Brasserie Fréteur in Lomme, France, Brewery Excelsior (Ghent), Brasserie le Coq Hardi (Rijsel, France), Brouwerij Roberg (Ypres), Brouwerij De Gomme (Ruddervoorde), Brouwerij Cerkel (Diest) and Brouwerij ' T Hamerken (Bruges). In 1990 it made an agreement with the Abbey at Tongerlo to produce and market their abbey beers. It’s latest acquisitions were the Eupener Brauerei in Oost-kantons and Bierbrouwerij De Leeuw uit Valkenburg (South Netherlands)
