Hacker-Pschorr Bräu AG

Location:         Munich, Germany

Website:          Hacker-Pschorr

Although at one point in time the two breweries of Hackerbräu and Pschorrbräu were separate entities the two breweries are so inter-linked it would be pointless not to consider them together. Joseph Pschorr married Maria Theresia Hacker in 1793 and bought the Hacker brewery from his father-in-law and then added to his enterprise by buying his own brewery which he named after himself. When Joseph died he left the two breweries to his two sons, Georg taking control of Pschorr and Matthias the owner of Hacker. For a number of years the two breweries existed side by side but were finally reunited in 1972 when they were merged to
form Hacker-Pschorr Bräu AG. Today the brand is owned by Paulaner.
