In 1905 Tom Hoskins became a partner in a brewery formed by Jabez Penn in 1895. Two years later the brewery was under Hoskins control. In 1983 the brewery changed hands and became Hoskins & Oldfield but was aquired by Archer's in 2000 and subsequently closed down.
