König Ludwig Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg

Location: Kaltenberg, Bavaria, Germany
Website: König Ludwig
The castle brewery at Kaltenberg probably has a history as
long as the castle itself. The brewery in its current form was founded in 1870
and in 1920 had joined the Munich Union Brewery. In 1976 the current Prince
Luitpold took over the castle and its brewery and began developing the brewery
as a going concern. The brewery is well known for its traditional jousting
tournaments. The Beer Hunter,
Michael Jackson, has written this
interesting review of the brewery and its beers.
