Karlsberg was established in 1878 in Homburg. The current
owner is the great grandson of the founder. The brewery is best known as
Karlsbräu outside of Germany to differentiate itself from the more well known
Danish giant. The brewery owns the Brasserie de Saverne in France and the German
brewery Königsbacher in Koblenz.
